Brac is the largest central Dalmatian island. It is about 40 km long and 12 km wide on average. With a total area of 395 km2, it is the third largest island in the Adriatic. The highest peak is Vidova gora , and the highest peak of all Adriatic islands (778 m). Brač also has the most famous Croatian beach – Zlatni rat, as well as very interesting locations, Blaca Monastery and Dragon Cave, which speak about the history, not only of the island, but of the Croatian people in general.

A few years ago, Brač also got a 140 km long hiking trail Via Brattia, which connects a large number of Brač settlements and twelve of the most attractive cultural-historical island locations into a beautiful pedestrian complex. Via Brattia passes through the centers of many beautiful and picturesque villages of Brač - Supetar, Miraca, Sutivan, Bobovišća na moru, Ložišća, Bobovišća, Milna, Murvica, Bol, Sumartin, Povalja, Pučišća, Postira, Škripa, and takes you to some of the most beautiful beaches and bays of Brač - Zlatni rat, Farska, Murvica, Lovrečina, Smrke… Part of this trail and some of the attractions on the island we will visit on this trip.

Island of Brac 14-18.11.2026.

itinerary

This trip is actually an active five-day getting to know the island of Brac. A large part of it will be on foot along the VIA BRATTIA trail, which is certainly a great way to get to know a destination. We will climb Vidova gora, the highest peak of the Adriatic islands, visit probably the most famous Adriatic beach, Zlatni rat in Bol, visit the stonemason's school in Pućišći, as well as the Blaca monastery somewhere in the hills at the foot of Vidova gora, the museum of the uja and the museum of the island of Brač in Škrip. In addition, there will be wine tastings, visits to hidden farms and family farms, dinners in excellent taverns and restaurants and much more.

FIRST DAY

We depart from Zagreb at 9 a.m. and, with one stop, around 1 p.m. we arrive in Split, from where the ferry to Supetar departs at 2:15 p.m. We are on Brač in less than an hour, just so we can walk to Sutivan by dark. There we will be waiting for transportation and take us to accommodation in Nerežišća. The apartment is great for socializing, since it has a huge living room connected to the kitchen and dining room.

The Second Day

Getting up and having breakfast. Today we have a stock from Sutivan to Milna. The trail starts by the sea, then turns into the interior, and through olive groves and meadows comes again to the sea in the picturesque village of Bobovišća on the sea. From there, the trail leads to another picturesque place on the hill, Ložišća, from which it then descends to Milna. There'll be a transfer waiting for us and we'll be taken to the apartment.

The Third Day

Getting up and having breakfast. We're not going to leave Milna today, we're going to shorten the road a bit. We will drive over the Blaca Monastery, but we will not reach it by the shortest route, but we will connect to the path that comes from Milna, and from there to the Monastery. The monastery can be reached from several directions, but this one led by VIA BRATTIA from the direction of Milna is the best. You'll see why that's the case. We will visit the monastery with the expert guidance of the person who lives there, and then descend to the sea and the bay Blaca, and extend further to the bay Vela Farska where we will wait for transportation.

FOURTH DAY

Getting up and having breakfast. Today's day is reserved for Vidova Gora, the highest peak of the Adriatic islands. On Vidovo gora you can come from several directions. The most difficult is certainly the one from Bol, since it overcomes the greatest height difference. We plan to take this path, but we will decide on the spot, depending on the situation.

The Fifth Day

Getting up and having breakfast. Today we are in Pućišći where we will visit an impressive stonemason's school (the only one in this part of Europe that still teaches handmade stone processing with old Roman tools). After visiting the school, we head towards Supetar. At 12:30 there is a ferry to Split. We are in Split in an hour, and we arrive in Zagreb in the late afternoon.
